What is Sports Premium Funding?

The Sports Premium Funding is an initiative facilitated by the Government to enhance the provision of P.E. and School Sport in primary schools. The funding, a direct response to London 2012, has been available to primary schools since 2013-2014 and will be until 2020. Each year, primary schools receive a lump sum depending on the number of pupils on roll and then a further £10.00 per pupil on roll.

What is the funding used for?

 At Aughton Junior Academy we will use this funding to provide our children with more sports opportunities. We work in partnership with the Aston School Sports Partnership, and with our ACET Trust academies, to:

• Increase the amount of competition sport in which our children participate.
• Make links to other community sports providers.
• Develop additional clubs and activities for children, outside the curriculum. Encourage our children to improve their leadership skills through sport.
• Give extra support in PE to our most talented children and include those with special needs in sport
