This half term the children have began exploring 3D shapes. We learnt that 3D shapes are solid and that we can pick them up and hold them. We then went on a shape hunt adventure and named various 3D shapes such as cube, cone, sphere, cylinder, and cuboid.

We also learnt that 3D shapes have faces. A face is a surface on the shape that you can touch. We made towers and stacked the shapes. We discovered that shapes have either flat or curved faces!

We are looking forward to learning the basic properties of 3D shapes before moving onto 2D this week.
