Meet the Governors at Aughton

Chair of Governors: Luke Hague

Luke is excited to serve as the Chair of Governors at Aughton Junior Academy, driven by his love for education and his commitment to giving young people a voice. Having attended an ACET Academy himself, Luke appreciates the difference a supportive school community can make.

Luke has a varied career background, including a recent role as an Operations Manager for a large acute NHS trust, where he developed strong leadership, transformation and strategic planning skills. He has also been a trustee of a national charity and worked as a Project Manager in the local Youth Service, further deepening his dedication to supporting young people. In December 2021, he started his own business, working with local government, healthcare organisations, and small businesses to help them succeed.

Luke is proud to be part of this school community and is dedicated to making sure every student feels valued and heard. He believes in creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential and is always ready to listen and support the students.

Vice Chair: James Beighton

Lauren Moore

Lauren works in one of the ACET Junior Academies leading on safeguarding alongside supporting families and pupils with SEND.

I thoroughly enjoy this role and feel that I can help make a positive difference to the lives of children and families.

Previously, I worked at Aughton Early Years Centre as an Outreach worker. It is a privilege to be supporting AJA as a Governor as I feel I can bring my knowledge of the local area and my professional knowledge of safeguarding and SEND to support and guide the academy.

I believe that school must see each child as an individual and the qualities that they hold. We must look beyond the child, their home life and their experiences, to allow us to meet the needs of each child.

Janet Dean

I have 21 years experience working at a local Primary School as HLTA. I also ran the wrap around care provision for the school. I worked with every year group within my role but my expertise was working with Y6 children. I retired from my role in education in January of this year and I'm now employed as Children & Families Worker for Swallownest Baptist Church.

I know how important it is for both staff and children to feel valued and safe within the school environment, and I have a particular interest in a positive attitude towards wellbeing for all.

I'm looking forward to being involved in the life of Aughton Junior Academy and the Trust.
