School Prospectus

Choosing a school for your child is a big responsibility and making the right start at school is crucial for every child and builds a strong foundation for future learning. The team at Aughton will work hard to ensure your child’s start is a positive and happy experience.

Aughton is an academy where children are identified as individuals, are valued and helped to achieve their personal best. Children are supported in becoming confident and independent young people, who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn. All schools have their own distinctive ‘feel’ which makes each one unique. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at Aughton comes from our caring, supportive and friendly learning environment. I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to children’s well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care. Staff, supported by governors and trustees, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for future education; and to help them acquire the skills and enthusiasm needed to embrace the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. The excellent start begins in Reception and continues through the academy with staff providing a happy, supportive and purposeful environment, and a curriculum that excites and stimulates children’s imaginations and creative thinking. Our curriculum is underpinned by reading and we actively promote a love of reading for all children as we know this is the key which enabled them to access and enjoy the curriculum.

We hope the following information will give you a clear insight into how our foundation stage provision will run and support you in preparing your child for a successful start at school in September.
