Year 4 is a key stage in pupils’ learning where independence, confidence and responsibility continue to develop. Guided by our academy values of kindness, resilience, respect, ambition and self-belief, children build securely on their learning in reading, writing and mathematics, with a strong focus on fluency, reasoning and deeper understanding. Active learning opportunities are embedded across the curriculum, encouraging pupils to collaborate, ask questions and engage purposefully in their learning. A particular emphasis is placed on securing times tables knowledge, strengthening comprehension skills and producing high-quality extended writing, preparing pupils well for the next stage of their education.
